When to go

Winter is long in Vermont, with the ski hill open from late November until April. Peak summer months for hiking and biking are June through August. The shoulder seasons are quieter, but fall color makes October quite tempting.

Getting there

  • Planes

    Burlington is the nearest airport, a 50-minute drive from Stowe. For international arrivals, Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International is a two-and-a-half hour drive from Stowe, or Boston Logan International is around three hours away by road.
  • Automobiles

    Stowe is three-and-a-half hours by road from either Boston or Hartford, and although highways are well looked after, you’ll need winter tires from November through April.
